Hosting & Support FAQ's

My site wasn’t built by you, can you still maintain my site?

Although these plans have been set up for the sites we’ve built, we are open to building a long term relationship with new clients in need of our TLC. We want to make sure we can safely update your site and we require a one-time technical audit. We want to get familiar with your website and how it was built. During the audit, we’ll run through our list and make suggestions for improvements (if needed) in order to proceed with a monthly plan.

Should I update WordPress and plugins myself?

Please leave the updating to us. Website maintenance is an integral part of updating and keeping your site working properly. We take great care to first backup your website, check the website, update everything, then check the website again for any changes.

Does the monthly time rollover?

Our website hosting & support plans are set up like retainers. Every month, time slots are set aside for our maintenance clients. When requests come in, they go into the queue and are taken care of. Time does not rollover due to resource limitations.

What if I need more hours?

If a task goes over your monthly allotment, we’ll let you know and get approval before proceeding. In these cases, the hours will be billed at the discounted client support rate.

Do I have to host my site with you?

Nope. But why wouldn’t you want to? We try to make it easy and full-service, but if you really want to keep your own hosting, you can. You’ll still get the benefits of weekly updates and ongoing support! However, if you are on super cheap hosting like GoDaddy, BlueHost, or a myriad of others—we can confidently say that load times will suffer. We are happy to recommend hosting providers though.

If I keep my own hosting are the monthly plans less?

Nope. Hosting is a benefit we provide with these plans, but the real value comes from the ongoing support and long-term relationships we build with our clients. Most of our clients find it easier to have us host their site though.

I don’t want to move my domain or email over to you!

No problem! We don’t typically manage these anyway. If you have another provider for these, but want us to host your site, we will provide you with a server IP Address. You will need this to update the A Record on your domain. Email won’t be affected at all.
