Web design for mental health & behavioral health practices

Your clients should feel safe before they ever contact you

We design and manage WordPress websites for therapists, counselors, behavioral health practices, and mental wellness providers — built around trust, clarity, and your clients' experience.

Who This is For

We work with practices of all sizes

Whether you're a solo practitioner building your first real website or a growing group practice that's outgrown a basic template, we can help. The needs are different — but the standard of care we bring to each project isn't.

Solo Practitioners

A focused, credible site that reflects your approach and makes it easy for the right clients to reach you.

Group Practices

Individual clinician pages, clear navigation, and an intake process that works for multiple providers.

Behavioral Health Clinics

More complex builds for larger organizations — clear structure, strong credibility signals, and professional presentation.

What we understand about your work

Mental health websites have different requirements

Client privacy matters before they even book

Standard contact forms send unencrypted emails — that's a liability for mental health providers. We use HIPAA-compliant form tools so potential clients can reach out securely from day one.

Your site needs to feel safe, not clinical

Someone searching for a therapist or mental wellness support is often in a vulnerable moment. Calm layouts, warm design choices, and clear copy make that first visit feel welcoming rather than overwhelming.

Psychology Today isn't a substitute

PT is great for discovery — but it's not your website, and you don't control it. Your own WordPress site is where you establish authority, rank independently on Google, and convert visitors into clients on your own terms.

You don't have time to manage a website

After launch, every site we build moves into an ongoing management plan — keeping your site fast, secure, and supported.

Why Hopewell

What makes us different?

We keep our client list small. Every project — including mental health practices — gets direct attention from the people actually doing the work.

Support Beyond Launch

After launch, every site we build moves into an ongoing management plan. We don't hand you a site and disappear.

No Outsourcing

Your project is handled by us, start to finish. No contractors, no handoffs, no surprises.

Small Client List

We take on a limited number of projects so every client gets the attention they deserve.

FAQ

Common questions about websites for mental health professionals

Does my mental health website need to be HIPAA compliant?

Your website itself doesn't fall under HIPAA — but the tools you use to collect information from potential clients do. Any form that collects a potential client's name, contact details, or reason for reaching out is handling protected health information. Standard contact forms aren't built for that. We implement HIPAA-compliant tools like Jotform HIPAA so inquiries are handled securely from the start

Do I really need a website if I'm already on Psychology Today?

Psychology Today is a great directory, but it's not a website and you don't control it. A therapist with their own WordPress website comes across as more established, can rank in Google independently, and isn't subject to PT's pricing or algorithm changes. Most mental health professionals we work with use both: PT for discovery, their own site as the destination that converts.

What should a therapy or behavioral health website include?

At minimum: who you are, who you work with, your approach, your fees and insurance policy, and a clear way to get in touch. Beyond that — a bio that feels human rather than clinical, a FAQ for common questions, and ideally a page for each specialty or population you serve. We help you figure out what's right for your practice during the strategy phase.

Should I use photos of real clients on my website?

Almost never — and most mental health professionals know this intuitively. Well-chosen stock photography is the standard, and done thoughtfully it looks completely natural. We help you select images that feel warm and relatable without being generic or clinical.

How much does a mental health website design cost?

It depends on the scope. We work with solo practitioners, group practices, and behavioral health clinics at different stages. If your current site just needs updating rather than a full rebuild, our Website Refresh service is often a better fit. We discuss pricing openly before anything starts — no mystery quotes.

Do you work with group practices and clinics as well as solo practitioners?

Yes. Solo practitioners, group practices, and mental health clinics all have different needs. A clinic or group practice usually needs individual clinician pages, more complex navigation, and a more robust intake process. We've worked with all three and can scope the right solution for your situation.

Do you work with behavioral health providers outside of Oregon?

Yes. Most of our mental health and behavioral health clients are outside Oregon. We work remotely with practices across the country. Everything is handled online and works just as well as meeting in person.

Let's build something your clients will trust.

Tell us about your practice — no pressure, no pitch. We'll give you an honest assessment of what you actually need.
